Freedom is a feeling of utmost importance and proud we are for we have got it. This day binds us to many stories so let me share with you what happened on Independence Day, on 15th of August, 2016 ----
I woke up fresh & dressed enthusiastically in white. But alas! stepping out of the house seeing paper flags being sold- the rich having the best fabric crafted ones, pretty laces, shiny badges & engraved tattoos while the poor carried two rupee flags, if they could afford that- I felt less free and more captivated, captivated by the narrow walls, the social evils. I mean, why do we remember & respect the freedom fighters just on this day? Why not carry the goodwill and love for our country every day?
Good deeds are few in number. It is our country, our future and therefore our responsibility to strive hard & make good with the life we've got.
At school, I reached cycling. Into the class I went and was mesmerized by the colour chalk decoration on the blackboard. Songs playing in the ground reaching us sitting in class inspired us until popcorns we were jumping to get out. We chatted a bit among ourselves, teachers came, inspired us more and went on to look into the preparations. The bell rang & in rows we assembled in the ground facing the speakers directly. Our social science teacher made a speech, the principal and manager together hoisted the flag. Wind kissing the fabric stood the flag tight upright so with broadened chests & gleaming eyes saluted tricolour-hearted men as the national anthem played piercing through the silence. Some volunteered programmes of singing, dancing & speech-making after which we were back into our classes sitting on the benches. Then was sweet distribution and off we went back to our respective houses happily.
There, I hadn't missed a single programme. Such was just two hours at that heaven of ours.
