Wildering Dreams!

One stormy night, I sat gazing deep into the distant reaches of dark skies while at times glared lightning bolts in my eyes, for a moment lighting up the very air itself. I did behold as charges banished from the heavens hurled raging all the way through air towards earth. Moments after the streaks had wreaked havoc upon mortal earthly beings shouted the God upon them. I saw the nature destroy its own creations so drastically yet beautifully but even a melancholy for too long is distasteful & without a change, the luxuries of heaven feel boring. Leaving it to the universal forces to carry out their noble demonic work, I tucked into bed. First, I couldn't sleep for all that was on my mind. Then I did after rolling over several times.

I don't know when but as dead I lied on the bed, my soul got lost and trapped in an unknown dimension, my dream world. In the void as I moved forward, things started taking shape and just in a matter of seconds, I found myself in my own town on the road outside of my house. Eerie and dingy it all was cloaked in dark silence yet far away it seemed something was in motion. I started approaching that place and yet again I was there in an instant. From a safe place, I saw my school as the technological marvel it was with a protective electromagnetic shield around. As the focus of my eyes moved around, I sat with eyes and mouth wide open for the sight sent a shiver down my spine. There were the extinct dinosaurs all alive & in front of my  tyrannosaurus rex, velociraptors, terodactyls flying up in circles and many others- all hungry for fresh human flesh hitting the shield trying to break through. Again looking into the hemispherical dome, I saw survivors- all of the the people I knew & others whom I didn't.

In that moment, I did the bravest thing- moving through the grassy way going around the humongous legs and tails dodging them unnoticed as my heart pounded & my pulse throbbed. I was merely metres away from it when a stone struck my head, I cried and no more hiding. The beasty birds were the first to point out, followed by velociraptors. I ran as fast as I could but there was no way in through that shield, no gate & so I hit it hard and fell down. It was a piece of the ground which then lowered. Although I didn't know then if it was an act of saving or was it going to be my grave, my end but with all black unconscious I went for the adrenaline rush was too much- death on both sides closing as the moments passed. 

The next thing I woke up and saw was people standing all around me in perfect circle looking at the latest addition to their community & group. The cause was same and so I joined willing to make the resurrected beings go extinct again. 

I was shown the way into the high-tech laboratory. Amazed I was for this lab was like none I had ever seen, with missiles and bombs it was five weaponries put together into a freaking armoury. 

I have curiosity for technology but that was just another level stuff. Thanks they also had an AI that did most of the work assembling parts into weapons. By the nightfall, we had enough artillery to get rid of all the sixty nine beasts endangering our world. 

For darkness was beasts' domain & our power source was limited so we waited for the sun. But they didn't, because of a system glitch through the shield came in a velociraptor undetected and unseen. But as soon as it entered the lighted premises, the AI put the building under lockdown and there was no way for any living thing to escape. The thing once designed for protection had now become an inescapable prison.

We couldn't go anywhere for all doors were locked but the raptor's claws & teeth make their way through. And it did come looking for us warm-blooded ones following our trail of scent. All were initially separated in different rooms so the two technicians ventured out looking for others and gathering them along the way, manually overriding the locked doors.

Humans looking for humans and raptor looking for humans roamed everyone all over the building. In the meantime, I hid in the basement searching for others.

They didn't face each other, atleast not until all humans were in the laboratory, the safest room with five inch thick steel walls and two inch thick iron doors- equipped with all types of weapons.

As they waited for sunrise captive in there, there was a knock at the door that thrilled all. But don't worry, it was me. Now worry for the knock was heard by the raptor too and it saw me go through the door. As the door was closing, it came after us running & in the haste its claw got stuck in between the two gates. It was a bloody beast but the pain was unbearable for it too & so its claw stopped struggling leaving cuts and bruises all over the steel. 

From the outside, however, it started scratching and cutting through. On the inside, helpless and scared, they saw as the AI reported the deteriorating integrity of the door and the little time they had left before being torn apart limb to limb. And yes, it entered but was met with grenade launchers bursting right into its face. 

Wounded & burnt it fell down unconscious, thus was the little danger averted while sixty eight times of it still awaited outside. The raptor was put in a closed room and locked from the outside.

As the sun came up and all was revealed, humans & Al got ready for the war. The mission planned down to milliseconds with AI's help was just indestructible. However, it didn't account for all that happened. 

The raptor got loose before the missile could be launched and with no door between it & the people started bloodflow. 

One after another, those pointy claws ran through blood & flesh as the caged souls were released while the bodies put forward for damnation. 

With only some lives left, I was the next target. As the claws reached for my throat & ran through my clothes, I was freaked out of hell. 

Fear was so overwhelming that I was pulled out of there and thus the dream, or more preferably nightmare, came to an end.

Such was the bloodshed that I had never seen & never even want to see again. That nightmare never resumed nor even the likes of it came. And I am grateful for it.
